91 Iraqi Unionists
At a meeting of the Basra council of the Iraqi Federation of Trade Unions, Shiah Abdulridah Shefaf, head of the union for workers in the Ministries of Health, Education, Higher Education and other public services, makes a speech. He reports that the government cites the Saddam Hussein-era Law 150 as a pretext for refusing to negotiate with the union. His union has a higher percentage of women than any other.
