30 Mixtec schoolchildren San Quintin, 6/26/2000 Mixtec schoolchildren in the labor camp where their parents, migrant farmworkers, live during the tomato and strawberry harvest. In this camp there is a school which teaches in both Spanish and Mixtec, a product of community pressure by Mixtec farmworkers. The boys are Apolinar Perez, Arturo Perez (both in fifth grade), and Benito Perez, Cristoforo Perez and Jesus Perez (all second graders.) |
