21 Alfredo Figueroa Watsonville Alfredo Figueroa, a founder of the UFW, came to Watsonville to support strawberry workers from Blythe, California, where the union never lost a campaign. Figueroa is Blythe's best-known community leader, heading everything from the fight against the proposed Ward Valley nuclear dump near the Colorado River to the local Chicano community school to the town's chapter of the NAACP. |
