33 NAFTA No!
A demonstration against the visit of Mexican President Carlos Salinas de Gortari, who came to San Francisco to urge support for the North American Free Trade Agreement. Salinas threatened that failure to pass the agreement would lead to more Mexican immigration to the U.S., and many Mexicans living in the U.S. were offended by his appeal to anti-immigrant hysteria.
